Intel Open Studio
CONCEPT, USERFLOW, UTILITY DESIGN, ART DIRECTION

Open Studio was proposed to Intel based on their interest in reaching out to youths through music and the brand’s message of innovation and future-thinking. Making use of cloud computing and a library of open source music, we conceptualised a complete platform for every kind of music enthusiast. There are tools for musicians, composers, producers, graphic artists, music video directors, promoters and music listeners. Users can create and share music, mix it up with other budding artists and even jam live together online with an audience. Up and coming bands could use the platform to grow their fan base and promote their music. The platform makes for seamless collaboration between musicians, composers and music video directors and could potentially become the most massive online music community.

Music composers have access to sophisticated music creation tools. A real-time Music Chat is available for creative discussion with other artists and composers.

A live Video Jam allows musicians to play and record music remotely from different locations. Recorded tracks can be edited on the fly and added into the composer's timeline.

A large open source music library helps users with samples and base tracks. Users can also share and add their own tracks to the library. An event calendar shows upcoming live online performances.

OpenStage is where bands and individual musicians perform live. Users can login to watch the performance and become fans.

Video editing tools are available for budding directors to create music videos in collaboration with musicians.

Additional widgets like the Twitter scanner help users to innovate and create.

Different online instruments let users play with their creations and keep their tracks fresh.
